The Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week (DSFW) is the annual event that celebrates and spotlights sustainable fashion in the Netherlands. Through shows, workshops, talks, and pop-ups, DSFW inspires both consumers and professionals to (re)discover fashion in a greener, fairer, and more innovative way. For the Rotterdam edition, Het Nieuwe Instituut served as the central stage, a fitting home for new ideas about design, culture, and the future.
RE The Agency developed a concept that celebrates the people shaping Rotterdam’s sustainable fashion scene. We produced a series of 10 portraits featuring local creatives, designers and entrepreneurs who embody conscious creation, authenticity and community. To broaden the conversation, we took to the streets and asked Rotterdammers a simple question: “What story does your outfit tell?” Their answers revealed a city that values individuality, creativity and care — a city where we celebrate diversity in all its forms. The result is a campaign that combines portraiture and street storytelling, capturing the energy of a city where sustainability is lived, worn and shared. By putting real people and their choices front and center, the project reframes sustainable fashion as a personal statement rooted in identity, inclusivity and local pride.
