Episode #85

Summary

Anyone who rides a moped remembers it like it was yesterday: the helmet mandate. As of January 1, 2023, every scooter with a blue license plate was required to wear a helmet. While helmet sellers rushed to capitalize on the surge in demand, Paul Wassenaar saw an opportunity to build something bigger. With his brand GO OFF, he set out not only to improve road safety, but also to create a more sustainable future. From raw materials to packaging and recycling, sustainability is embedded in every detail. And that didn’t go unnoticed: last month, GO OFF achieved the prestigious B Corp certification. In this episode, we talk with Paul about building a business with impact, creating a brand that looks beyond profit, and what it truly means to ride sustainably. So buckle up, helmet on and tune in!
“Nobody Googles ‘circular helmet.’ They buy comfort, fit, design & sustainability has to be built in from day one.” - Paul Wassenaar, GO OFF @ReTheAgency
